Serenity by the Sea, located at 545 Main Street in Morro Bay, is owned by long-time Central Coast resident Melissa Morton. Melissa is a licensed esthetician who has 25 years of experience in providing nail care and spa services, such as pedicures and manicures.
Melissa's Signature facials are unparalleled. They begin with a thorough skin analysis, followed by a meticulous cleansing, including exfoliation, extractions –- if needed, facial masque, and/or therapeutic treatment, facial massage, and sealed with a sheer tint moisturizer with sunscreen. Her Signature skincare experience also includes warm hand mitts and warm towel foot wraps followed by a relaxing hand, foot, and calf massage.
In creating Serenity by the Sea, Melissa has created an environment
conducive to relaxation and rejuvenation from the moment you walk
in the door -- no amenities have been overlooked. Every detail is
a delight from the
chamomile tea and lemon water; soothing music and waterfall; silent
phones, along with beautiful views of Morro Rock and the serenity
of the sea. "For years, as friends and family would visit my
home, they'd always say that it brought them a sense of peace and
relaxation. I've designed Serenity to have that same homey feeling,
where you can completely unwind and enjoy the serenity." She's
has succeeded in creating Serenity by the Sea to be an experience
for all of the senses.
Adriana Hernandez, Certified Massage Practitioner
Adriana is a born caregiver and nurturer, and it's really no wonder that she
ended up in the "hands-on" healing field of massage therapy. Her joy is developing one-on-one relationships with clients over time and seeing them benefit from the help that she provides them.
"Touch is so important," she says. "Think about all you do in a day for others and how nice it is to have someone take care of you. I love building relationships with and seeing my clients making personal progress in their overall wellness. It's extremely rewarding."
Adriana has more than eight years experience as a massage therapist. A graduate of the Mesa Academy in Orange County, Adriana’s training included massage and holistic arts techniques. She has worked in both clinical/medical and spa settings and has also attends numerous continuing education seminars to keep her massage style fresh and to learn the newest techniques in massage therapy.
Adriana’s goal is to tailor each individual massage to the client’s particular needs. "Massage is very intuitive, which is something you just can't learn from a textbook," she said. If something is hurting on a patient, she does her best “detective work” to help resolve the issue and bring relief. “I want each massage experience to be memorable,” she said. “I want clients to leave our session happy, renewed, and feeling that they received personalized treatment every time.
Originally from Southern California, Adriana moved to the Central Coast last year. She enjoys photography, hiking, knitting and caring for her "herd of cats." I enjoy activities that are more quiet and tranquil," she said. "I find that it's that peace and comfort that I can pass onto my clients."
Annie Bauman, Certified Massage Practitioner
Massage therapy is a very important aspect of Annie's life, which she enjoys sharing with clients and friends. Annie feels strongly that the healing received from massage has a very powerful way of aiding the body in relaxation and increasing energy levels. As a massage therapist, Annie has found that helping individuals to ease tension and experience greater sense of wellness and well being is very fulfilling. Her approach with massage is to use a blend of Shiatsu (pressure points), Swedish (for deep relaxation) and Hot Stone massage (to access areas of muscle tension). She is also licensed in reflexology and oncology massage.
